The FTC has accused Instant Brands, the owner of Pyrex, of falsely advertising their glassware as “proudly made in the USA” when some products were actually manufactured in China. This is a violation of the Federal Trade Commission Act. The proposed settlement will prohibit further false claims and impose a monetary penalty for past deceptive practices. It’s important to note that for a company to label or advertise their products as “Made in the USA,” they must demonstrate that all or almost all parts, processing, and labor are from the United States.
